For any user who is curious about the amount of data they will use when using an Air Card or Hot Spot for internet connection – we have calculated how much data would be used per streaming plan during certain periods of time. These numbers are not exact as they do not account for the audio portion and other data being sent via a stream, it only accounts for video data.

Streaming Plan X 60 (seconds in a minute) X Amount of time = Number of megabits per amount of time – you will then convert megabits to megabytes and megabytes to gigabytes. If you ever wish to calculate this formula yourself we have provided an example below.

For example –

.7 mbps streaming plan X 60 (amount of seconds in a minute) X 60 (minutes in an hour) = 2520 megabits in an hour. I then convert megabits to megabytes (you can do this through Google easily)which is 315. 315 megabytes is .315 gigabytes. If a user is streaming on the .7 Air Card Plan for one hour they will use .315 GBs of data. You can see in the table above that we rounded .315 to 3.2
