Production Truck allows for both the cloud and local connection of a Sportzcast Scorebot system in order to automat scoring duties to be controlled via the ScoreBot. This can be helpful in freeing up valuable time and effort when producing a broadcast. We have broken up this document into a cloud and local connection section, as well as a section detailing how to disable certain data fields from being automated for manual entry.
Note: Sportzcast systems require network ports between 1400-1405 to be opened in order to function, these are different than the ports that BlueFrame products and services utilize.
If you are attempting to connect a Sportzcast ScoreBot over a local connection, you will need to grab the IP Address from the ScoreBot system and then plug it into Production Truck.
On the main screen of the Sportzcast ScoreBot, an IP Address will be displayed. An example of an IP Address would be as follows: 172.16.254.1, we will utilize that number in a moment.
From Production Truck, navigate to the gear icon in the center, then choose the Scoreboard tab. Then from the Source dropdown, select Sportzcast ScoreBot Local. You will then input the IP Address from the ScoreBot in the IP Address Field. Then select Connect, the Status indicator at the bottom should change to Connected to Bot.
You should also see the Detected Sport, change to whichever sport you are currently wanting to display. You should also see the fields below populate with various pieces of data like: Home Score, Guest Score, Quarter, etc.
In order to connect to a Sportzcast Scorebot via a cloud connection, you must first be registered and have access to your Sportzcast account. The link to sign into your account can be found at the following link: Sportzcast Login
Once logged in, you can select your bot from the Bot field dropdown in the top right hand corner of their site. By clicking on the bot and selecting profile, to the right, you can verify it is active. By just clicking on the bot, you can see which data is being received and it updating it properly.
It is important that you verify that the Sportzcast website is receiving data, as this is where Production Truck will grab the data from. If they are not receiving the data, Production Truck will not either.
Now, in Production Truck, navigate to the gear icon in the center, then choose the Scoreboard tab. Then from the Source dropdown, select Sportzcast ScoreBot Cloud. You will then input your Username and Password for your Sportzcast login, also input the Bot number from the Sportzcast website. Note: Channel number is usually '0'.
Then select Connect, the Status indicator at the bottom should change to Connected to Bot.
You should see the status change to Connected to Bot and see the Detected Sport and data fields begin to populate.
Disabling Fields for Manual Entry
In some cases, you may not want a particular field being brought in from the Sportzcast Scorebot to be automated. This would allow you to utilize our control panels to manually input various information such as: team names, quarters, timeouts, etc.
In this case, in Production Truck, navigate to the gear icon in the center, then choose the Scoreboard tab. Navigate down to where the various fields are listed as being brought in through the Sportzcast Scorebot. Simply click the Enabled checkbox next to the respective field. If it is unchecked, it will not be controlled by the Scorebot.
Now bring up a control panel, or other overlay, and you will be able to manually control these inputs. They will not longer be automatically changed due to the automation.
