Information below will guide you in aspects of equipment, software and networking setup needed to run SlingStudio in conjunction with our BlueFrame Production Truck software.
SlingStudio is a wireless camera system that allows multiple transmitters to send signals to one centralized hub. It's advantageous as it does not require major cabling between the computer, capture card device, and cameras. A capture card device, such as a Blackmagic DeckLink Quad is not needed with a setup like this.
The above image is an example of how this setup would function in regards to workflow when SlingStudio is used in conjunction with Production Truck and vCloud. However, there does need to be a capture card between the SlingStudio Hub and the computer.
There are a few notes to consider when considering this setup:
There is a longer delay with the video feeds that are coming into the SlingStudio setup
The SlingStudio video switching all has to be done from the SlingStudio app, it doesn’t directly feed all four cameras into the Production Truck software. The SlingStudio feed comes into Production Truck as a single camera source.
Audio must also be first inputted into the SlingStudio, and then fed from there into a capture device and the computer with the Production Truck software.
